Bizarre Days

There is a holiday every day and since I am so over my head with Christmas season stuff and I am sure everyone else is too. So here are a few other things to celebrate to get your mind off christmas crazyness.

December 11 is . . . . National Noodle Ring Day (and my PaPa's birthday)

December 12 is . . . . National Ding-A-Ling Day (wtf is that?)

December 16 is . . . . National Chocolate Covered Anything Day ( I am so cool with that!)

December 21 is . . . . Look At The Bright Side Day, National Flashlight Day, National French Fried Shrimp Day, and Hamburger Day (thats a big day!)

December 26 is . . . . National Whiners Day (for all you babies that didn't get what you want on Christmas)

December 28 is . . . . Card Playing Day and National Chocolate Day (I guess Chocolate needs several days a month.)

December 31 is . . . . Unlucky Day (That sucks cause thats my anniversary too, not unlucky for me)

Ok so focus on the silly holidays if the upcoming big one gets overwhelming.

Here's a pic or 2 to remember the sweet parts of the holiday season.

Its called Headbanz and you can't find it anywhere anymore. I would love an expansion or something.

Dad did not figure out that his was NUTS. In the first round you ask questions to find out what your card is. You have one minute to ask. If you get it right you move 3 spaces on the board, if you don't guess in that first minute you can choose to ask more questions and then move 2 spaces if you get it right or get one word clues from everyone. I said "scrotum" when I had to give my dad a clue. How many of you would say scrotum to your dad? LOL

If anyone knows where to buy this game or the expansion cards please let me know!

Wordless Wednesday

Yep, that's my dad. During game time of our Thanksgiving get together. For some reason he seems sweaty but it was kinda chilly in the house. Maybe he was sweating from all the laughing we were doing during this hilarious game. He had to guess what his card was by asking yes or no questions. Boy did we mislead him on that one.

Hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving and thanks for all your thoughts because my scan came back negative again. YAY! Still no cancer regrowth. That is awesome and I am thankful for the resources we have that help find these things sooner. Of course that's not all I am thankful for, but it is near the top of the list.

So much for wordless..

Random catch up

Where should I start?
Well on October 22nd we drove 6 hours back to KS because Batman's grandpa passed away. The funeral was Wednesday the 24th. We stayed the rest of the week in KS to help grandma out and spend some time with the family.

On Friday the 26th, Batman started feeling icky and we were battling fluids coming out the wrong end. The next day we were visiting the ER because the pain in his stomach was so bad he couldn't stand it. So they gave him some pain pills and an IV and some morphine and sent us out. Then we went back in to the ER at 11pm because the pain had not changed. They gave him a shot of demerol in his bootie and took an x-ray that showed nothing.

Last Sunday we were supposed to be driving back to IL but opted to stay off the road since Batman still felt pretty crappy.
Monday I drove all of us the 6 hour trip back home.
Tuesday, Spiderman dressed up as a pirate and went trick or treating with his preschool. Batman felt a little better and other than all of them having head colds and runny noses, things were feeling better.Halloween day, Spiderman dressed in his Optimus Prime Transformer costume and went candy begging with his preschool again. Then we took our Transformer and our Superman Monkey around the hood to beg for more candy and show off our cuties to everyone we know in IL.
I pigged out on Halloween candy all day Thursday, then Friday I got my top 2 wisdom teeth removed. Ouch. I have to get the bottom two removed in January since the dental insurance is stupid.

Yesterday I mainly slept in a drugged stupor all day and Batman waited on me hand and foot. SWEET!
Today I feel awake and I don't wanna take any more of those pain pills cause they make me feel weird, but my mouth hurts a bit still. And we just watched the KC Chiefs lose the game. In my opinion there are always crappy calls that make them lose and today was no exception.

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

Halloween Blogthings

Your Halloween Costume Should Be

A Bumble Bee

Halloween Horoscope for Taurus

For you, halloween is about looking your best - even if it costs a fortune.
You don't mind a little sweet stuff either, as long as it's high quality chocolate.

Costume suggestions: An elegant princess / prince. Or a high class vampire.

Signature Halloween candy: Truffles

Scary movie you should celebrate Halloween with: Nosferatu

Kind of ironic because I hate candy with nuts in it.

Nutty and gooey - you always satisfy.

You Are Changing Leaves

Pretty, but soon dead.

And this one, just cause I love Karaoke.
Your Karaoke Theme Song is "Baby Got Back"

You're a total show off who is willing to risk looking like a fool to get a few laughs.
In fact, you'll go for the cheap laugh if you need to... because it's better than no reaction!

Your friends can count on you to get a party started, and you'll party hard until you can't remember their names.
You're charismatic, charming, and a total character. With or without a few drinks in you.

You might also sing: "I Touch Myself," "Oops I Did it Again," or "My Humps"

Stay away from people who sing: "Candle in the Wind"

3X Thursday

Inspiration for this Thursday thing comes from Memeaholic.

1. Name 3 pet peeves of yours. No one said they had to make sense!

Inconsiderate people, people who think you are a terrible person if you don't send them a Thank you card, and doing dishes.

2. Would you consider yourself to be a picky person (this can be in general or about specific things)? How so/how not?

I am not really picky about most things. I will eat anything or listen to any radio station or CD. I am picky about big purchases, like a house or car or new clothes. My husband probably thinks I am low maintenance since I am happy doing whatever he wants and he probably wishes I was lower maintenance on how many massages I make him give me.

3.Would you consider yourself to be a creature of habit? Why/why not? Do you care? Why/why not?

I am sort of a habit person. I like to sleep a lot. I also like to eat but I am lazy so I won't eat if I have to use a lot of energy to fix it myself. I sleep til the same time almost every day. I mainly eat at the same time every day. And I wear the same boring stuff most of the time.

What day is it?

I haven't posted in a while. Probably because I have just been so tired lately.
I have my thyroid scan the week of the 12th of November. I get the injections this time. Hopefully we will find nothing and then we have several things we want to do that I won't get into yet. Don't want to jinx it. :)

But this month I am having my top two wisdom teeth removed. Thanks to my parents not doing it when I was younger, I now have to pay for it myself like a good adult. I am getting my kids wisdom teeth removed by the time they are 17. They will thank me for it later. Just like the circumcisions. HAHA!

The first surgery is on the 24th of this month. If anyone wants to come babysit for me, you are quite welcome to. Oh yes I said first surgery. The second surgery is to be scheduled in January to get the bottom two wisdom teeth out. It actually saves us about $400 to do it in two surgeries. Stupid stupid insurance.

So, we have lots of plans and it mostly involves me being uncomfortable. Bunch of sucky-ness.

Well I think I may need another nap, even though I need to actually do the dishes.

PS... I urge you to check out this contest if you have children or grandkids or you have any kids in your life that you love. says I'm an Uber Cool Light-Weight Nerd. What are you? Click here!

Fast Friday

Just a quick post since I haven't posted for a few days....

I am going on a scrapbooking weekend overnighter. That means, no crying kids, no nagging the husband and 2 days of adult conversations. I will only be an hour away from home, but hey, thats an hour away!! I am sure that if you need a break as bad as I do, that will make sense to you.

I don't know where I am going, but I am hoping to get at least two albums finished. And I am not a prepared person like the other girls going with me. They all have their layouts planned, and I just have my pictures organized and I am taking EVERYTHING with me. I am taking all my paper and embellishments. I have just sat down at my computer because I believe I have everything packed. My trunk is full of my scrap stuff and my backseat is full of food and drink.

So have a good weekend and hopefully I will have much to post about next week!!

On this day in 2001 I was in college and I had just gotten out of class and walked to my friend's house and his roommate was on the couch crying and watching the news. We all just sat there and watched everything. We didn't know what was going to happen next and it was just so sad to see the people involved in those tragedies. I'll never forget.

Superman's first day of his second year of preschool was today. He gets to go from 12:30 to 3pm, 5 days a week now. It sucks that he couldn't start kindergarten this year cause he is so ready and preschool is so expensive. He is a very smart kid and his preschool teachers say he may be difficult because he already knows what they are teaching this year. Sorry for burdening them with my genius child.

I am still jobless. Well I do clean a few houses, but that isn't a steady job. Career Builder lets people see my phone number and I got spammed by those insane people thinking I want to pay them to start a "promising" career. Please... spare me.

The town festival was over the weekend. We walked around the park in the middle of town looking at people's handmade crafts for sale. Same stuff as usual. The town next to us is having their BIG festival this week. That one is better cause they have carnival rides and great food. They also have a little craft sale section. Maybe I will get some of those soy candles. We are also going to the parade on Saturday. This is why I like fall.

My favorite soap opera, Passions, is not on our cable station anymore. They moved the show to Direct TV. So if I want it bad enough I will have to get DTV. Uhm no. Its just not justifiable to me to pay $40 more a month for DTV just to get one show. But I would just like to state for the record that I am very frickin pissed that I can't watch my show anymore. Frickin pissed. And I am not about to switch to watching some other lame soap. I liked Passions for a reason...because it was crazy and not like every other soap. I have tried watching the others, and I just couldn't get into them. I watched Passions from the beginning and I am sad now that its gone. I think I will write a letter, and an email.

Wish they would stay this cute forever. Spidey loves Superman.

In my element....

Kind of... Batman took a pic of me one night when I was relaxing after the kids went to bed.
I was comfy on the couch in my t-shirt and shorts and covered up with my blanket and munching on some fresh salsa that I made myself. I had awesome chips to dip in my salsa and my bottle of water next to me.
Not to mention my favorite part, the remote. I was probably deep into a DVR'd episode of something great like The Closer or Kyle XY.

I need more nights like that.

Superman WALKS!

He is really getting the hang of it now. He used to crawl over to something and pull up to stand next to it and then take a couple steps. Now, he just stands up in the middle of the floor and goes back to taking very definite, concentrated steps.
Here is a video of this amazing and wonderous feat, shared by a VERY proud mommy.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things I’d Rather Be Doing Today, not that today is so horrible, but here are 13 things I'd still love to be doing.

1. I would love to have enough energy to do anything, ever. So assuming I had energy, I would rather be outside swimming with the boys. I think we are going to do that tomorrow anyway.

2. Getting my hair dyed the perfect color.

3. Getting a professional deep tissue massage.

4. Getting offered a new fabulous job.

5. Finishing a college degree.

6. Finishing a scrapbook album.

7. Taking the kids to a museum.

8. Reading the last Harry Potter book.

9. Sitting at Starbucks reading my book.

10. Ordering all the pictures I have not ordered yet on my computer.

11. Going to a movie by myself. Sometimes, its just fun to do.

12. A scrapbooking retreat sounds very productive and relaxing at the same time.

13. Romantic dinner alone with my sweet husband.

Ah, the Randomness

1. I am still working at the hotel, but hopefully soon, changes will be coming.

2. I am impatient that Nip/Tuck won't be starting the new season until October.

3. We are trying to feel like going for walks every night after Batman gets home from work.

4. I only have to work Thursday and Friday this week so maybe Batman and I can do a raid on WoW together for once.

5. I am reading the Harry Potter books. I am on the second one right now.

6. We don't have plans to go to Kansas again until Christmas. We have possibly some family coming up for Halloween and maybe Thanksgiving.

7. I can't believe its almost August and we have only gone swimming once. Poor Spiderman loves the water so much.

8. No idea what to cook for supper tonight after our walk.

9. Superman turned one 19 days ago. He is trying very slowly to walk. One of these days...

10. And a week ago I chopped about 6 inches of hair off my head. I tried to get a Posh cut, but it ended up longer than that thankfully cause I think I wouldn't have liked it that short.

Picture time!!

Mundane Monday

The topic is what’s your sign?

I am a Terrific Taurus.

Patient and reliable
Warmhearted and loving
Persistent and determined
Placid and security loving

On the dark side....

Jealous and possessive
Resentful and inflexible
Self-indulgent and greedy

I think that all these words pretty much describe me. They could describe several other people that aren't Taurens. However, instead of the word, inflexible...I prefer stubborn.

The Greek myth of the bull-form taken by Zeus in order to win himself another woman was always interesting to me. According to legend, Zeus was enamored of Europa and decided to seduce or ravage her, the two being near-equivalent in Greek myth. He transformed himself into a tame white bull and mixed in with her father's herds. While Europa and her female attendants were gathering flowers, she saw the bull, caressed his flanks, and eventually got onto his back. Zeus took that opportunity and ran to the sea and swam, with her on his back, to the island of Crete. He then revealed his true identity, and Europa became the first queen of Crete. She gave birth to 3 of Zues's children.

So, What's your sign??

Where have I been?!?!

Geez, it seems like I have been too busy to sit down very long. Summer does that to a lot of people I think.
We left at the end of June to go back to Kansas for Sister #1s wedding. Sisters #2&3 were very excited to get to see their nephews.
We had a full week with, Superman's first birthday party and bachelorette party, and bridal shower, and rehearsal dinner and the wedding. Not to mention the primping and preparing for the big wedding.

Well I can not believe that my little Superman is 1 already. He has such a fun personality now. He waves all the time. He does a little fake laugh when anyone starts laughing, and then when you laugh at him laughing, he just laughs harder. And the poor kid laughs like his mama. He has taken a few steps, but isn't quite ready for full on walking. I am sure he will just take off in a few days like its nothing.
Spiderman stayed in KS with family and won't be back until the 20th. Sure makes the house a bit more boring without him about. Superman keeps looking around for big brother and yelling his name but then has to settle with just mom and dad for entertainment. I can't believe that a year ago I became a mother to two boys. Its exhausting just thinking about it.

Well here is a slideshow of our summer so far and I am sure we will stay busy with outdoor activities and I hope to update you again soon. Maybe now that the wedding stuff is over with, I can concentrate on keeping up with the blogging.
